I was sitting at work today and couldn’t stop thinking about how badly I wanted to transport back into the wilderness. Ugh, what I wouldn’t give to be back in Yosemite in that brisk fresh air… Than I realized I never finished sharing our last trip. Let’s take a hike…
Yosemite National Park tops the charts in nearly any category- BEST National Park, Most Visited National Park, Most Beautiful National Park, Best Family Road Trips, etc, etc, etc- the list goes on! So we finally bit the bullet and went to check it out for ourselves.
Sometimes you experience something that merely no words can explain. And as usual, I will allow the pictures to explain as much as I cannot. I’ve struggled for weeks trying sort through hundreds of captures and memories of an amazing weekend trip to Santa Cruz.
At some point, we all just want to run away from everything, everyone, and hide; some of us more often than others (guilty!). Depending on our purpose, we yearn for a local that meets our needs of vacant seclusion and scenery to clear our minds. The beauty of the great outdoors is that you often are forced to unplug and disconnect which allows you to get in touch with your inner self and tap into your creative spark that may be less influenced when faced with the everyday marketing that we are accustomed to.
Continuing my #5230project , we took a rather impromptu weekend camping trip to Angeles National Forest last weekend! We had nothing better to do, and I would venture into the woods anytime you asked me to, so it was a no-brainer to pack up the car and take the dog for his first camping weekend.
These foggy days prove most ideal for clearing ones mind…
Over the years, and even more so recently moving across country, I have come to realize the importance of true friendship. It’s not easy to come by, and if you are anything like me, it usually takes some time to build enough trust to let just anyone into your life. But when you do find those rare individuals that you choose to let in, it’s really important to keep them close. So, I invited (or forced) my best friend Cristie to head over to the west coast and explore parts of southern California that I still had not. It’s was the perfect opportunity to add to the #5230project!
obsession noun, ob-ses-sion: a state in which someone thinks about someone or something constantly or frequently especially in a way that is not normal
It might be, but how can you blame me? He is so gosh darn cute! So why not explore a new area with my buddy in tow? This week we went to Rosie’s Dog Beach to see how Buddy would like the salt and sand between his paws!
Fashion, sequins, mirrors, gloss.
Leather, stitching, high heels, boss.
Perfectly imperfect style.
Live your life inside and out.
This week I totally stepped out of my norm and explored a well known label in the fashion industry, Louis Vuitton. The exhibit, Series 2, was a temporary exhibit set up about half a block from my apartment and open to the public (FREE!!!). While I had a tiny bit of curiosity, this is not the sort of thing I normally spend much interest or time exploring.
Sometimes we do sweet things for each other. Last week, Jeremy took me hostage for a surprise adventure! He silently navigated south and wouldn’t provide any detail as to where we were headed. Driving along the PCH, a mere crevasse of the coast meeting the mountainous range on either side of our car, was enough to keep me occupied and from guessing our final destination every three seconds.
