In between working, furnishing our place, and preparing for the holidays, we got to explore a nearby oasis! Just an hour south of us in Rancho Palos Verdes is an adorable park overlooking the Pacific Ocean called Abalone Cove.
Here are a few of our favorite shots from the mid-day visit…in mid-November by the way! We caught low-tide so the brisk pools were crawling with wild creatures to observe while we enjoyed the PERFECT weather.
So maybe we broke the rules a little by allowing Buddy in the water, but eh, he’s harmless! As we hiked back up the hill to the parking lot we caught a huge pod of dolphin migrating across our view- there must have been hundreds in this clan! It was a perfect close to the afternoon and also made me realize how important it is to cherish the moments as opposed to catching the perfect shot with my camera. I was able to simply watch in amazement as they frolicked by and that image is more clear in my mind than the photos from the day. Just food for thought 🙂
