One of the main attractions for our move to LA was the ease of access to hiking. So, naturally, I like to get my shoes dusty as often as possible and explore various trails and paths in LA’s own backyard.
Recently, I came across a trail in the Santa Monica Mountains which twisted through some quaint meadows and eventually at a peak with views over Malibu and towards the Pacific Ocean. The hike was an easy to moderate difficulty level and was surprisingly shaded for a majority of the trails. We passed few other visitors and felt so removed from the bustling city life.
At the half-way point of the out and back trip we were roughly at 2,800 ft and walking through low-lying clouds. This prevented clear views of the Pacific but stunning scenes nonetheless. It was a great way to spend a few weekend hours.
